The Soul Steppers Drill Team Inc. is a faith based community drill team out of Michigan City,Indiana that was started in December 2000 by Founder/Director Lyn Isbell. The Soul Steppers consist of 25 members ages 12-21 and includes a drumline. Actively participating all year around throughout the city and surrounding areas, they also do community services, weekly mentoring and homework sessions, and practice twice a week. Members must be drug/alcohol/tobacco free to promote a healthy lifestyle, and commit to stepping out on faith. The Soul Steppers are a multi-award winning precision drill team, we travel throughout the country touching lives with lasting memories while performing in various events and celebrations. Some include but are not limited to:
all church / school functions, parades, competitions, exhibitions, sporting events, family reunions, expos, conventions, weddings/ receptions, fashion shows, anniversaries, birthdays, grand openings, benefits, festivals, etc. You name it-we claim it!! States traveled include: Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Georgia, New York, North Carolina, New Jersey, Texas, and Nebraska. Winning numerous awards and nationwide recognition, most recent 2007 are:

Charlotte,NC Juneteenth competition ; 2nd place
Waterloo,IA The Lord's Warriors competition; 1st place
Indianapolis Circle City Classics parade Drill Team comp; 1st place
Kansas City,KS Gateway Highsteppers competition; 1st place
Gary,IN 4th of July parade; 1st place Best Overall Entry
Michigan City Summer Festival parade; 1st place.

2008 awards are:
Dallas Mavericks NBA/American Dance Drill Team competition; Division 1 superior team award, ATS Tours & Travel outstanding performance award, and 2nd place overall award, Dallas, TX.
Mighty Marchers competition in Memphis, TN ; 1st place.
Isiserettes competition in DesMoines, IA; 3rd place.
Marching Knights competition in Omaha, NE; 1st place.
Juneteenth Celebration parade in Decatur, IL; 1st place
National Circuit World Championship in Grayslake, IL; 1st place Drill , 3rd place Drum Corp, and Best Leadership award.
Michigan City Summer Festival Parade; 1st place Parade Theme, 1st place Dance/Gymnastics.
The Lord's Warriors competition in Waterloo, IA; 1st place Drill Team, 2nd place Drumline.
