The Soul Steppers Drill Team Inc. is a faith based community drill team out of Michigan City,Indiana that was started in December 2000 by Founder/Director Lyn Isbell. The Soul Steppers, consisting of 25 members ages 12-21   includes a Drumline.  To stay focused and off the streets, they are active all year around  doing community services, weekly mentoring / homework sessions, practice three days a week, as well as performing.  Members must be drug/alcohol/tobacco free to promote a healthy lifestyle, and commit to "stepping out on faith". This  award winning  team  travels throughout the country gaining nationwide recognition, while touching lives with lasting memories by performing high energy, synchronized, & tight precision  routines, along with a powerful Drumline that has a completely unique sound.   Performing in various events and celebrations, some include but are not limited to:  

 Church / School/  Political/ Patriotic / Parades/ Competitions/ Exhibitions/ Sports/ Festivals/ Holidays/Youth / Family / Expos/ Business/Conventions/ Weddings/ Receptions/ Fashion Shows/ Anniversaries/ Birthdays/ Concerts/Grand Openings/Benefits/Orchestras/ Unusual requests, you name it!!  No event too big or small !     States traveled include: Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Georgia, New York, North Carolina,  New Jersey,  Texas,  Nebraska, Maryland, Washington,DC, Ohio & Oklahoma.

Dallas Mavericks NBA/American Dance Drill Team Competition; Division 1 Superior Team Award,  ATS Tours & Travel Outstanding Performance Award, and  2nd Place Overall  Award, Dallas, TX.

Memphis, TN  Mighty Marchers Competition:  1st Place.

Omaha, NE Marching Knights Competition :  1st Place.

Decatur, IL Juneteenth Celebration Parade:  1st Place

National Circuit World Championship in Grayslake, IL: 1st Place Drill , 3rd Place Drum Corp, and Best Leadership Award.

Michigan City Summer Festival Parade: 1st Place Parade Theme,              1st Place Dance/Gymnastics.

Waterloo, IA The Lord's Warriors Competition: 3 Consecutive Years 1st Place Drill Team Winners ,    2nd Place Drumline. 

Indianapolis, IN Circle City Classic Parade:  1st Place Drill Team.

Kansas City, KS Gateway Highsteppers Competition:  1st Place.
